The regulations currently in effect for events and casual markets are extended through and including Oct. 31.
The Ministry of Health’s second amendment to the 2nd COVID-19 Measures Ordinance extends the currently applicable regulations for events and casual markets up to and including Oct. 31.
Beyond that, there are no adjustments, according to a statement on Monday. Accordingly, it continues to apply that events with 100 or more people are subject to notification to the district administrative authority.
3-G rule and providing contact information
Permits are needed for 500 or more. At 100 or more participants, a prevention plan must be developed, implemented, and a COVID-19 officer appointed. In addition, the contact data of the participants would have to be collected for gatherings.
For event visitors, the 3-G rule applies when entering gatherings with more than 25 participants. If the stay is longer than 15 minutes, visitors must provide their contact information.
These rules also apply to casual markets such as Christmas markets. This does not apply to so-called “sales opportunity markets,” which are smaller markets with individual stalls where goods, food and drinks are only sold but not consumed on site. For these markets, FFP2 masks are mandatory in enclosed spaces, and 3-G proof is not required here. The amendment is expected to be available Monday afternoon.
