Austria is experiencing a sad record in Corona numbers. 9,943 new infections within 24 hours equals a new all-time high since the start of the pandemic.
The previous high of November 13, 2020 – when 9,586 infections were recorded – has been significantly surpassed. The seven-day average now stands at 7,148 infections per day. Within a single day, another 31 people also died from or with Covid-19.
Thirty-four more patients have had to be admitted to Covid wards since Friday. Hospitals in this country are now treating 1,856 Corona patients, and intensive care units now have 359 people seriously ill with Covid-19. Within a week, 86 Covid-19 patients have been added to intensive care units, and three since Friday.
Austria with more than 800,000 positive Corona tests so far
To date, there have been 875,333 positive test results in Austria. As of today (Nov. 6, 9:30 a.m.), 11,482 people across Austria have died as a result of the Corona virus and 795,835 have recovered.
