On Monday, according to the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), some rain is to be expected, then the high-pressure weather will return with increasingly frequent fog in the lowlands. In the sun it will also be relatively mild.

Monday will start rainy, sun will appear in the afternoon
On Monday, many dense clouds will hang in the sky during the first half of the day. With them it will rain mainly around the main ridge of the Alps and also still in the south and southeast at times. The snow line is generally between 1,000 and 1,200 meters above sea level. From noon on, however, the precipitation will decrease, the clouds will become fewer and at the same time the sun will show itself more and more often.

The wind will blow weakly to moderately from west to north. Early temperatures will range between minus one and plus seven degrees, afternoon temperatures between six and twelve degrees.

Thick fog in places on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the day will start with fog and high fog of varying persistence or last denser clouds of the night, especially in the north and east as well as on the eastern edge of the Alps, in southeastern Styria and in inner Alpine basins and valleys. Until noon, however, sunny and also dry weather can finally prevail in all parts of the country. The fogs are somewhat tougher only in the southeast and in the Klagenfurt basin.

The wind will be weak to moderate from northwest to east. The lowest temperatures will be minus three to plus seven degrees, the daily highs six to 13 degrees.

Wednesday cloudy and foggy
Wednesday will also start with fog and high fog over the lowlands in the north, east and southeast as well as in southern basin areas, inner Alps and at Lake Constance. But also away from the fog zones, a screen of high cloud fields will cover the country from the south, often allowing only diffuse sunlight. In the southern congested areas in the southwest, even deep cloud layers will appear in the afternoon. In the eastern lowlands and in the mountains, moderate to brisk southeast to south winds will blow.

From minus four to plus five degrees in the morning, temperatures will rise to four to 14 degrees, with the highest values at medium altitudes on the slightly foehny northern side of the Alps.

Mild temperatures with sunshine on Thursday
On Thursday, high pressure will dominate the weather. Over the lowlands and in valleys and basins, however, there will be widespread fog and high fog patches, which will often persist into the afternoon. Regionally, it will also remain foggy and cloudy. Away from the fog zones, however, sunshine will predominate, with only a few high veil clouds passing through at times.

The wind will be mostly light. In the morning, it will be minus four to plus four degrees Celsius, during the day, depending on the sun and fog, five to 16 degrees Celsius, with it being warmest at medium altitudes.

Nothing new on Friday
There will be nothing new on Friday: Over the lowlands as well as in valleys and basins, there will again be numerous fog and high fog patches. These often persist and hardly dissipate even in the afternoon. Away from the fog zones, however, sunny weather will prevail, with only a few high veil clouds passing through.

The wind blows only weakly. Early temperatures range from minus three to plus four degrees, daytime highs from five to twelve degrees, depending on the sun.
