The weekend is approaching, concentration is sinking, and in many offices leisure plans are already being made – the majority of people name Friday as the day on which work is least productive (33.6 percent), as a recent online survey by Marketagent shows. This has not changed in recent years either. A 2019 survey by the Online Research Institute showed a similar result.
Work is done at 80 percent
However, Austrians definitely do not feel underutilized at work. Almost 90 percent of respondents say they are confronted with high demands at work. By and large, they counter this work pressure with a high level of productivity – although not all working time is actually spent productively: On average, employees report working just under 80 percent of their working time efficiently.
The picture is similar when it comes to work motivation. All in all, although employees at home sit at their desks with a certain amount of zest for action, they only really work full steam ahead for an average of 69 percent of their working time.
