149,452 active cases. 72 new deaths linked to Covid-19 infection.
On the second day of the lockdown, the numbers relax, at least briefly. From Monday to Tuesday, there were 9,513 new infections in Austria. For the first time since November 9, there are thus again below 10,000 new infections per day.
Today’s new infections are thus also below the average of the past seven days of 14,004. In addition, the number of active cases drops to 149,452.
On the other hand, there is no relief in the hospitals. In intensive care units, 577 patients are currently being treated with an increase of 15 patients. In normal wards, there are 3,145 patients with an increase of 91 patients.
In addition, there are 72 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, so the pandemic has so far claimed 12,114 lives in Austria. In the past 24 hours, 342,785 new PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 2.78 percent.
