That the Corona vaccination helps especially in severe courses, show the latest the figures on the vaccination status of Covid-19 hospital patients from the Ministry of Health. As of yesterday (Tuesday), 584 people across Austria were in intensive care with an infection. 428, or 73.3 percent, of the ICU patients had either no vaccination or incomplete vaccination. The much smaller proportion, 156 people (26.7 percent), had been vaccinated.

Figures for Vienna
The figures were similar in the federal capital, Vienna (as of November 22). There, 113 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection required intensive medical care. 90 patients, or 79.6 percent, did not have complete vaccination protection or were not vaccinated at all. 20.4 percent, or 23 people, have received at least two doses of vaccine.

Looking at the total number of hospital patients, more than half (54.5 percent or 1,409 persons) of 2,584 infected persons throughout Austria are without complete vaccination protection (as of November 23). Far fewer – 1,175 people – are immunized with two doses of vaccine. Looking at Vienna, of 344 hospital patients, 192 are without vaccination protection (55.8 percent) and 152 (44.2 percent) are fully immunized.
