From Monday to Tuesday, there were 10,367 new infections in Austria. Today’s new infections are below the average of 10,724 over the past seven days, and the number of active cases also drops to 135,148.
There are also 61 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 12,553 lives in Austria so far. In the past 24 hours, 387,786 new PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 2.67 percent.
There is still no relief in the hospitals. In intensive care units, 649 patients are currently being treated with an increase of 7 patients. In normal wards, there are 3,376 patients with a minus of 106 patients.
