From Wednesday to Thursday, there were 8,882 new infections in Austria. Today’s new infections are below the average of 10,051 over the past seven days, with the number of active cases dropping to 130,066.
In the past 24 hours, 386,226 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 2.30 percent.
There are also 72 new deaths associated with Covid-19 infection to report. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 12,625 lives in Austria so far.
There is still no relief in the hospitals. Currently, 637 patients are being treated in intensive care units. In normal wards, there are 3,241 patients.
