On December 12, the Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace opens its doors again. Around 60 exhibitors are looking forward to the opening after the Corona Lockdown.
Christmas market at the Riesenradplatz opens again
With end of the country wide Lockdown for inoculated and recovered also the culture and Christmas market castle Schönbrunn opens on Sunday, 12 December at 10 o’clock again its gates.
Visitors can stroll and shop in a relaxed manner while observing the 2-G rule and wearing FFP2 masks. The decorated huts invite until 26 December with a variety of handicrafts, Christmas tree decorations, gift ideas and culinary delicacies to take away to the market stroll in front of the gorgeous castle backdrop. Mulled wine and punch as well as ever-popular classics such as roasted almonds, filled crêpes, warming soups and tasty Gröstl and Spätzle await visitors – although the gastronomic offerings are limited to take-away for the time being.
A nativity scene with over 250 figures, handmade especially for the Christmas Market by master carver Franz Oberschneider from East Tyrol, provides a special eye-catcher in front of the Christmas tree.
Advent flair at Hof Palace
Advent magic returns to Hof Palace on the fourth weekend of Advent. On December 18 and 19, the Christmas market will provide plenty of Christmas flair. Arts and crafts, culinary delights, concerts, a colorful children’s program and an impressive baroque backdrop guarantee an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
