Seventeen deaths occurred since yesterday, which is pretty much in line with the seven-day average of 17.4; 122 deaths occurred in one week. Overall, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 13,689 lives in Austria since the outbreak. As of Wednesday, there are 28,634 active cases in Austria, up 212 from the previous day.

As the number of new infections increased, so did the proportion of positive test results: Of the total 474,074 PCR and rapid antigen tests reported in the past 24 hours, 335,071 were performed using the more informative PCR method, and the positive rate was one percent, above the previous week’s average of 0.4 percent.
The vaccination behavior of Austrians is also relatively positive, as of the total 51,864 vaccinations on Tuesday, both the 5,523 first-time stings were above the seven-day average of 3,634, and the 16,253 second-time stings were above the seven-day average of 10,221. The majority involved third stitches, which were 30,088 or just over 58 percent of all vaccinations administered. This number is also above the seven-day average, which is 22,202 for this segment.
