The peak of the omicron wave is approaching. But also on Monday, there were again 6,802 new positive findings in Vienna. The details:

As of Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, 398,101 positive tests have been confirmed and 290,971 people have recovered since the pandemic began, according to the health authority and the city of Vienna’s medical crisis team.

The number of deaths related to the virus is 2,874, one person died last.

For the federal capital, 6,802 new infections were reported in the past 24 hours.

Nationwide, a total of 27,400 positive findings were counted.

On Monday, there was a new increase to 104,256 active Corona cases. However, the rate of infection now seems to be slowly decreasing. This gives hope!

The federal government expects the peak around February 7, but the date of the zenith depends on the respective conditions in the provinces, said Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein at their opening announcement on Saturday.
