From Tuesday to Wednesday, 39,493 new infections were registered in Austria. This is significantly higher than the average of 27,665 over the past seven days. Currently, 275,346 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus.
The seven-day incidence is 2,175.61 In the past 24 hours, 585,388 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 6.75 percent.
There are also 47 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infection to report. This is the most deaths within 24 hours this year. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 14,888 lives in Austria so far.
There are currently 2,622 people being treated in hospital, up by 69 patients from Tuesday. In intensive care units, 190 people are currently being treated, one less than the previous day.
