In the last 24 hours, 28,463 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. There have also been 22 additional deaths linked to Covid-19. The number of hospitals and intensive care patients has decreased somewhat.

In Austria, 22 additional deaths related to Covid-19 have been reported within 24 hours. The number of Corona deaths since the pandemic thus exceeded the threshold of 15,000.

In terms of new infections, 28,463 cases have been recorded since Saturday. This figure is below the previous seven-day average of 29,747. The seven-day incidence was 2,331.1 cases per 100,000 population. As of Sunday, there were 292,576 active cases, up 3,162 from the previous day.

22 Corona deaths in the last 24 hours

Deaths it was counted in the seven-day average daily 31.6. A total of 221 deaths related to Corona infection have been recorded over the past seven days. Since its outbreak, the pandemic has claimed 15,008 lives in Austria. Per 100,000 population, 168 people have died from or with Covid-19 since then.

There have been 2,867,760 confirmed Corona cases since the pandemic began. Since the outbreak, 2,560,176 people have recovered, and within the past 24 hours, 25,279 were considered recovered.

Hospital and intensive care patients slightly decreased

There were 2,469 people in the hospital on Sunday, down by 78 from the previous day, according to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Interior. One hundred ninety-one people were being cared for in intensive care units. That number fell by eleven since Saturday and is down by six patients in a week.

423,664 PCR and rapid antigen tests were reported within 24 hours, including 352,191 PCR tests. All told, we now stand at 210,978,053 Corona tests performed. The positive rate for PCR was 8.1 percent; this 24-hour figure was above last week’s average of six percent positive results.
