Fourteen deaths related to Covid-19 were registered in Austria from yesterday to today.
Last Saturday, March 5, Corona measures were lifted mainly in Austria. These opening steps act as an “infection accelerator”; within a week, new cases increased by nearly 30 percent within 24 hours. Last week, the number of new infections scratched the 50,000 mark three times – absolute highs in the pandemic so far. Also, on Saturday, more than 34,000 new cases were reported, more infections than ever before.
From Sunday to Monday, 34,220 new infections were registered in Austria.
Currently, 387,930 people in Austria are actively infected with the Coronavirus. The seven-day incidence is 3,305.6.
In addition, there are 14 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infections to report. Thus, the pandemic has claimed 15,221 lives in Austria to date. To date, there have been 3,188,147 positive test results in Austria. As of today, 2,784,996 people have recovered.
192 in intensive care units
Currently, 2,856 people are in hospital care due to the Coronavirus. Of these, 192 are being cared for in intensive care units.
