The Ministries of Health and Interior have reported 7,571 newly registered coronavirus cases within the last 24 hours (as of 9:30 a.m. today). The states reported these numbers to the national crisis team.
Sixteen thousand four hundred seventy people have died from or connected with the coronavirus so far. The follow-up report of about 3,400 deaths announced by the Ministry of Health does not refer to these figures. One thousand eight hundred seventy-six infected people currently receive hospital care, including 138 in intensive care units.
AGES: 7-day incidence at 700.8
According to the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), the 7-day incidence, i.e., the number of new infections with the coronavirus in the past seven days per 100,000 inhabitants, is 700.8 (as of yesterday, 2 p.m.).
The highest number is in Lower Austria (923.9) and Vienna (907.5). The lowest figures are Tyrol’s (462.2) and Carinthia’s (480.7).
