From Wednesday to Thursday, 6,361 new infections were registered in Austria. This is below the past seven-day average of 6,400. Currently, 84,197 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus.
The seven-day incidence is 503.31. In the past 24 hours, 152,100 new PCR tests were performed. This results in a positive rate of 4.26 percent.
There are also 17 new deaths associated with Covid-19 infection to report. The pandemic has thus claimed 18,117 lives in Austria.
Currently, 1,382 people are being treated in hospital, which is 70 fewer than were reported yesterday. One hundred thirteen people are receiving intensive care. Since Wednesday, this number increased by two patients but has decreased by 17 patients in one week.
Five thousand sixty-five vaccinations were administered Wednesday. One hundred eighty-four were first-time shots, 597 were second-time shots, and 4,284 were third-time shots.
