5,200 new infections in Austria on Saturday

From Friday to Saturday, 5,199 new infections were registered in Austria. This is slightly above the average of 5,928 diseases over the past seven days. The 7-day incidence is currently 466.17. Currently, 79,847 people are actively infected.

In the past 24 hours, 150,570 PCR tests have been performed. This results in a positive rate of 3.45 percent.

In addition, 18 new deaths have been reported. This brings the pandemic death toll to 18,156 so far.

There has also been a decrease in hospital patients. There are currently 1,247 people in hospital with Covid-19, which is 106 fewer than on Friday. Eighty-seven people had to be cared for in intensive care units. Since yesterday, this number dropped by twelve and dropped by 34 patients in one week.

Immunizations

The number of vaccinations has been stagnant for some time. On Friday, 5,865 stings were administered. Of those, 204 were first-time stings, 693 vaccinations were second-time stings, and 4,968 were third-time stings. According to E-vaccination data, more than 6.8 million people have received one vaccination. That’s 76 percent of the total population. More than 6.1 million people have proper vaccination protection or 68.3 percent of Austrians. The protection rate (valid vaccination certificate) is highest in Burgenland with 74.5 percent. In Lower Austria, 70.5 percent of the population has proper vaccination protection, and in Styria, 69 percent. After Vienna (67.2), Tyrol (66.2), Carinthia (65.1), Salzburg (64.4), and Vorarlberg (64.3), Upper Austria brings up the rear with 64 percent.
