Thirteen new deaths linked to Covid-19 infection.
From Monday to Tuesday, 5,240 new infections were registered in Austria. This is below the average of 5,669 over the past seven days. Currently, 72,307 people in Austria are actively infected with the coronavirus.
The seven-day incidence is 445.86. One hundred forty-six thousand five hundred sixty-four new PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours. This results in a positive rate of 3.82 percent.
There are also 13 new deaths associated with Covid-19 infection to report. The pandemic has thus claimed 18,183 lives in Austria.
Currently, 1,180 people are being treated in hospitals, and 80 people receive intensive care. Since yesterday, this number has fallen by ten and is down by 31 patients in one week, a drop of around 28 percent.
On Monday, two thousand five hundred ninety-one vaccinations were carried out by 6.112,360 people. Thus, 68.1 percent of Austrians have valid vaccination protection – a slight decrease compared to the previous week when it was 68.3 percent.
