Three thousand three hundred thirty-five new infections were reported for Austria on Sunday, decreasing last Sunday’s 3,617 and below the seven-day average of 4,421. The seven-day incidence was 344.6 cases. As of Sunday, there are 58,304 active cases in Austria, down 1,551 from the previous day.

No deaths and fewer hospital patients
Since the pandemic, there have been 4,212,492 confirmed cases in Austria. Four million one hundred thirty-five thousand eight hundred eighty-five people have recovered, and 4,886 within the last 24 hours. There were no fatalities this time. A total of 18,303 people have died from or with Covid-19.
There are currently 790 people in the hospital with or because of Corona, 17 fewer than the previous day. Fifty-eight of those people are being cared for in intensive care units. Since Saturday, the latter number dropped by four and is down 23 in one week.

A total of 70,318 tests were reported in the past 24 hours. Of those, 66,812 were PCR tests with a positive rate of five percent. One thousand four hundred fourteen vaccinations were administered on Saturday. Six million thirty-three thousand two hundred thirteen people, or 67.2 percent of Austrians, have valid vaccination protection.
