In the last 24 hours, 1,766 new coronavirus infections were reported in Austria. Out of only 41,052 PCR tests, 4.3 percent were positive.

One thousand seven hundred sixty-six new corona infections were reported across Austria 24 hours on Saturday. This is below the average of 2,164 cases over the past seven days. However, only 41,052 PCR tests were registered through the window day, of which 4.3 percent were promptly positive, above average.

More than 4 million new Corona infections since the start of the pandemic in Austria
Since the pandemic’s beginning, there have been 4,246,631 confirmed infections in Austria. One or more conditions are behind 4,191,006 people. Within the past 24 hours, 3,036 were considered free of the virus again. As of Saturday, therefore, there were fewer than 37,000 active cases nationwide.

498 corona-infected people hospitalized in Austria
There were eight reported covid deaths within one day. There were 498 infected persons in the hospital, precisely the same number as on Friday, but 149 fewer weekly. Forty-eight affected people were being cared for in intensive care units. This number was up two from the previous day and down six patients in one week.

3,135 Corona vaccinations on Friday.
Three thousand one hundred thirty-five vaccinations were administered on Friday. Of those, 131 were initial shots and 269 seconds, and 2,735 third shots. According to E-vaccine passport data, 6,828,185 people in Austria received at least one vaccination. 5.9 million people, or 65.8 percent of the population, have valid vaccination protection.
