There is free admission at the open air summer cinema Kaleidoskop at Karlsplatz in Vienna.

With free admission, Vienna’s summer cinema Kaleidoskop takes place from July 1 to 17 at Karlsplatz. We have the complete 2022 program at a glance.

After two exceptional years, Kaleidoskop returns to Vienna’s Karlsplatz and celebrates film and cinema cultures in public spaces with a film festival of diverse urban societies in the fourth edition curated by CineCollective.

On the program from July 1 to 17 are 17 current Austrian as well as international feature films and documentaries. Each evening, intros designed by filmmakers, artists and activists provide impulses and open up diverse approaches to the cinematic works.

Kaleidoscope at Karlsplatz in Vienna: The Program
The film screenings begin daily at 9 p.m. and take place in all weathers. Admission is free, free seating. All films are shown in original version with English subtitles.

New this year is the larger offer for deaf and hard of hearing people and all who want to enjoy international cinema with German subtitles: German subtitles are additionally available every Friday and Saturday, intros are interpreted into Austrian Sign Language.
