Fifteen new deaths were reported in association with Covid 19 infection.
From Friday to Saturday, 6,587 new infections were registered in Austria. The number is below the 7-day average of 8,376 infections. The 7-day incidence drops to 658.69.
This brings the number of active Corona cases down to 110,414. Sixty-one thousand five hundred ninety-two new PCR tests were made in the past 24 hours. This results in a positive rate of 10.69 percent.
There are also 15 new deaths. This means that 19,095 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died across Austria.
There are currently 1,621 patients in the hospital, and 91 patients in intensive care units, the same number as the previous day.
More vaccinations again
There has been a significant increase in the number of vaccinations: If 3,877 vaccinations were carried out on the previous Friday, yesterday there were 10,215, of which 8,139 were booster vaccinations (4th, 5th, and each additional vaccination dose). Five million four hundred twenty-two thousand six hundred seventy people, or 60.1 percent of Austrians, are currently vaccinated as the National Immunization Panel (NIG) recommended.
