On Saturday, 5,478 new coronavirus infections were reported in Austria. 1,270 Corona patients are currently being treated in the hospital. Of these, 72 are being cared for in intensive care units.
In Austria, 5,478 corona infections have been registered in 24 hours. This is close to the average of 5,432 positive tests over the past seven days. Sixteen additional deaths were reported Saturday. Hospitals also still had 1,270 infected people, 52 fewer than the previous day – but the decrease only affects Vienna; all other provinces said the same workload on Friday as last weekend.

72 Corona patients are currently in intensive care units
72 Corona patients were cared for in intensive care units. This number decreased by ten since the previous day, due only to Vienna reports. In the past seven days, 79 deaths have been registered. According to figures from the Interior and Health Ministries, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 19,273 lives in Austria. However, according to AGES data, there have already been 20,498 Covid deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 4,820,764 confirmed Corona cases
This means that of the 53,979 PCR tests most recently performed across Austria, 10.1 percent were positive.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 4,820,764 confirmed SARS-CoV-2 cases in Austria. One or more infections have been confirmed in 4,725,003 people; within the last 24 hours, 7,174 were considered free of the virus. On Saturday, there were 76,488 active cases in the country, 1,712 fewer than before.
