The Corona situation in Austria continues to improve! Thus, “only” about 3,800 new infections were registered again in the last 24 hours.
The number of Corona cases has dropped significantly in Austria in recent days and weeks – including last weekend or holiday! There were 5,478 new infections on Saturday, 4,731 on Sunday, and even “only” 3,008 on Assumption Day.
New infections in the federal states:
Burgenland: 62
Carinthia: 266
Lower Austria: 854
Upper Austria: 415
Salzburg: 200
Styria: 229
Tyrol: 184
Vorarlberg: 99
Vienna: 1,499
To date, there have been 4,832,311 positive test results in Austria. As of August 16 (9:30 a.m.), 19,279 persons with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died, and 4,739,492 have recovered throughout Austria. Currently, 1,234 persons infected with coronavirus are receiving hospital care. Of these, 63 are being cared for in intensive care units.
The Ministry of Health’s dashboard is operated by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and can be accessed at “covid19-dashboard.ages.at.” The dashboard obtains its data exclusively from the Epidemiological Monitoring Register (EMS). The EMS is the official register where the district authorities and laboratories enter data.
The Federal Ministry of the Interior collects the figures to coordinate State Crisis and Disaster Management via daily registrations from the provinces. These figures may include cases that are not yet recorded in the EMS.
