China has become the first country to approve an inhaled Corona vaccine.
The China Food and Drug Administration has given the green light, Tianjin-based CanSino Biologics said Monday in a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The novel inhaled Corona vaccine is an emergency remedy for Corona booster vaccinations.
CanSino developed the Corona vaccine for inhalation.
According to the company, its administration does not require a needle stick and is also easier to store than conventional Corona vaccines. CanSino did not disclose when the vaccine would be available to the general public. To date, no independent study has been published demonstrating its efficacy. Approval of the drug nonetheless sent CanSino’s share price up 14 percent for an interim period Monday, with a 7.1 percent gain at the close of trading.
