Since Christmas – like New Year’s Eve – falls on a Saturday, parking tickets are generally not required in Vienna. Nevertheless, when choosing a parking space, you should pay attention to signs and ground markings.
On December 24, 2022, no parking tickets will be required in Vienna due to the Saturday, remind the ÖAMTC traffic experts.
Exceptions are business streets, train stations and hospitals, and parking lots in the vicinity – so be sure to pay attention to the parking signs.
Caution for residents’ parking lots on December 24, 2022
Particular caution for residents’ parking spaces In addition to the short-stay parking zones, there are residents’ parking spaces in districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 15 and 20. These may only be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by residents with the appropriate parking sticker and by disabled persons with identification. This also means that motorcycles and mopeds are not allowed.
The ÖAMTC experts recommend paying close attention to where cars are parked in the districts mentioned above.
