85,000 (SternsingerInnen) carol singers will be on the road in 2023 as the Three Wise Men in Austria to bring the blessing.
Eighty-five thousand children and young people will be dressed in royal robes after Christmas and until January 8, 2023. The “Three Kings” bring peace and blessings for the New Year throughout Austria.

Millions of steps, open hearts and doors and filled donation boxes carry the blessing far and wide to people in need. The Epiphany Campaign, the relief organization of the Catholic Children’s Movement, uses donations to support around 500 aid projects in poverty-stricken regions of the world every year.

85,000 carol singers bring the blessing for the new year 2023
As a prelude, the carol singers will be sent on their way in solidarity by Cardinal Schönborn on December 27, 2022 (11 a.m., Archbishop’s Palace, Wollzeile 2,1010 Vienna). In the Hall of Mirrors of the Hofburg, Federal President Van der Bellen will receive royal delegations from all over Austria (and emissaries from South Tyrol) on 30.12.2022 at 13:00.

Donations for the Three Kings Campaign

The “Dreikönigsaktion” supports the children’s mission with a donation. The donation can be transmitted to the account of Epiphany Action (IBAN: AT23 6000 0000 9300 0330) or online at www.sternsingen.at/spenden.

The focus of the carol singing campaign 2023 is the help shepherd peoples
The 2023 carol singing campaign focuses on aid for pastoral peoples in northern Kenya. Due to the climate crisis, there is no rain in Samburu and Marsabit. Donations to the caroling campaign ensure clean water and, thus, survival. The food situation is also improved with the planting of vegetable gardens. Shepherd children, who look after the herds during the day, learn reading, writing, and arithmetic in special evening schools. Women join forces and increase the family income, for example, by raising chickens or making bead necklaces and soap from aloe vera.
