With the turn of the year, parking in Vienna is also becoming more expensive. A half-hour comes from now on to 1.25 euros. Other fees are also going up.
The current parking tickets should be valid until 310 June 2023, according to the city.
The old year ended on an expensive note, and the new one is hardly going to be any cheaper either: the city of Vienna is raising its fees, and the cost of parking tickets is also going up.
The fees for garbage, sewage and water will be raised slightly. For a single household, this means additional monthly expenses of about 1.30 euros, and for a family household, about 2.90 euros per month.
Parking tickets will also become more expensive. Half an hour will cost 1.25 euros (previously 1.10), one hour will cost 2.50 euros (previously 2.20), one and a half hours will cost 3.75 euros (previously 3.30), and two hours will cost 5 euros (previously 4.40). The new, expensive parking tickets have been available since mid-December. Old parking tickets can still be used without problems until June 30, 2023.

In 2023, the waste separation system is to be standardized. The changes will then also affect Vienna. This means that in the future, not only will plastic bottles, metal cans and beverage cartons go into the yellow garbage can or yellow bag, but also packaging such as fruit cups, yogurt pots, bubble wrap or chip bags. In Vienna, around 18,300 yellow garbage cans are affected by the changeover.
There will also be changes to e-scooters from May 1, 2023. In the future, there will be fewer scooters. There is also a ban on parking on the sidewalk. Increased controls are to ensure that the new regulations are also complied with. The city promises: “In the new year, we will end the scooter chaos in Vienna!”
