The second wave of climate bonus payments started on February 2. However, those who receive the bonus by mail still have to wait.
Since September 1, the climate bonus has been paid out in Austria.
Most people in Austria have already received the 2022 climate bonus in the fall: around 7.4 million people by bank transfer and over 1.2 million as a voucher.
However, those who have not yet received it had to be patient until February 2 – according to the Climate Protection Ministry, this involved 457,000 people. Eligible are those who have had a primary residence in Austria for at least 183 days.
The ministry said all transfers had already been completed by Monday. Nevertheless, dozens of affected people come forward every day who have not seen a cent of the promised 500 euros to date. About 150,000 get the bonus payment by RSa letter in the form of a coupon delivered.
The deliveries are currently underway and will be processed over the next few weeks. The Sodexo vouchers can be exchanged for cash at Bank99 or redeemed in numerous stores.
The second wave of payments from February will be for existing and new claims for the 2022 climate bonus, while the first wave of payments for the 2023 climate bonus will probably be made in the fall, as was the case last year.
