Not even half a year ago, the iPhone 14 was presented, and already there are concrete rumours about its successor iPhone 15. So 9to5mac CAD files were leaked, allowing very clear conclusions about the upcoming smartphone’s design.
The most remarkable finding is the upper side of the screen, or rather the no longer existing notch. Dynamic Island will also take its place in the non-Pro models. This is an oval-shaped notch that houses the front camera and sensors.
It also appears from the files that Apple is now venturing away from Lightning toward USB-C. It remains to be seen how much the port will be restricted on the software side. It is possible that Apple will not allow all accessories with the help of a special security chip.
Display size
According to the CAD files, the display of the iPhone 15 has a size of 6.2 inches, which is a bit bigger than the current model with 6.06 inches. Colported changes, such as capacitive buttons, cannot be read from the CADs.
We should also remember that the design could change again until the smartphone’s launch. Even if the leaked CADs are original Apple files.
