Vienna Housing Bonus can be applied now. Two hundred euros will be paid out per household.
Viennese citizens can apply for the Housing Bonus 2023 on Monday this week. Two hundred euros will be paid out per household. The city of Vienna would like to support tenants with the inflation and makes approximately 140 million euro available for it.
Support for 700,000 Viennese households
About 700,000 Viennese households are entitled to receive assistance. For a one-person family, the income limit of 40,000 euros gross applies for 2022. The income limit of 100,000 euros gross applies to multi-person households.
Applications can be made online or via the service telephone on 01 4000 8040. The City of Vienna will provide further details in a letter sent to every address in Vienna between July 12 and July 21, 2023. The letter includes an individual password needed for the online application.

The requirement is that one or more persons have registered their primary residence at the residential address as of the June 28, 2023, cut-off date. The subsidy will be transferred to the account specified in the online application or paid out by postal.
“Austria continues to have one of the highest inflation rates in the entire euro area. That is why we are continuing to reach out to the people of Vienna. In the last provincial parliament, we put together three packages that will help the Viennese cope with the increased housing costs. It goes far into the middle class and about 700,000 households can be sure that we will again help quickly and without complications with 200 euros each. This is not only a masterstroke by our administration, but also a commitment: We are there when things get tight and we will be there as long as it takes,” says Peter Hacker, City Councillor for Social Affairs.
