Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg himself unveiled a new feature for WhatsApp on Friday. “We’re adding the ability to instantly record and share a video message in your WhatsApp chats. It’s as easy as sending a quick voice message.”
With video messages, users can reply to chats in real time and share 60 seconds of words and pictures. “We want to provide a fun way to share moments. So you can, for example, congratulate someone on their birthday, laugh at a joke or deliver good news,” it says in a statement.
Sending a video message works the same way as sending a voice message. All you have to do is click the button to switch to video mode and hold it down to record. The new feature has already been activated for some Android users, and all users should be able to send video messages in the coming weeks.
