Somewhat unsettled weather continues this week, with brief sunny spells alternating with rain showers. A brisk westerly flow will flutter the flag especially vigorously on National Day.

Today, Wednesday – Temporary calming of the weather.

In the south, the significant rain will soon be over; in Hermagor, more than 90 liters per square meter have fallen since yesterday. However, the weather will remain unstable; showers are possible at this time. In East Tyrol, Upper and Central Carinthia, the Salzburg Tauern area and Styria around the upper Murtal, it will even remain cloudy most of the time. In the east of Austria, the rain will also subside, but a strong westerly wind will continue to whistle for a while, and clouds will constantly follow, i.e., the sun will only appear in between. Longer sunny spells will occur from Vorarlberg to Upper Austria, but it will still be partly cloudy or foggy for the time being. In the late afternoon, rain will begin to fall around Lake Constance. In the evening and at night, a frontal extension will again touch the northern side of the Alps.

Temperatures will reach 10 to 19 degrees. At 2000m, it will be 3 to 7 degrees.

Tomorrow, the National Holiday will continue to be changeable and mild.

For now, many clouds will pass through, and on the northern side of the Alps and in the east, it will sometimes rain. Snow will fall only above 2000 to 2600m. Towards the south, it will remain predominantly dry. It will soon clear up here and in the west; in the east, the sun will appear in the afternoon. Moderate winds in the west and north, as well as brisk winds from west to south. Temperatures will rise from 11 to 18 degrees at 2000m to 4 to 8 degrees.

During the night, heavy rain will spread from the west.

The day after tomorrow, Friday
A brisk to stormy westerly flow. They alternated sunny and cloudy, with brief showers from Vorarlberg to western Lower Austria. It is cloudy and rainy for a few hours in the east and south, then dry and sunny. Temperatures will reach 9 to 18 degrees. The snow line is between 1700 and 2300m altitude.

The further trend
On Saturday, it is increasingly sunny. In the first hours, however, it is partly cloudy or foggy and from Salzburg, there is eastward rain in some places. In the afternoon in the south, isolated showers, and in the evening, also around Lake Constance. In Upper and Lower Austria and Vienna, brisk winds from west to southwest The highest temperatures are 10 to 18 degrees.

There was some sun on Sunday, but initially, there was fog and high fog patches. Also, clouds are becoming denser between the Lechtal Alps and the Karawanken, from which it may also rain a little. In addition, on the main ridge of the Alps, there is a strong southerly wind. Highs: depending on fog, sun and foehn 8 to 20 degrees.
