It was a disappointment for many: there was no iPad at the recent presentation of new products from Apple. Only a new stylus (“Pencil”) was in the portfolio. But now insiders are reporting that an entirely new tablet is set to arrive in the second half of 2024—a foldable iPad.
Information comes from Taiwan
Time and again, manufacturers try to rekindle the hype of the foldable with new products. Most of the time, they don’t succeed. For a long time, fans hoped for an iPhone that could be folded in half. But now the big brother—the iPad—is set to become foldable, according to the Apple experts at MacRumors. The reason for this report is an article in the Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes.
Problems with the screen
According to the article, work on this product has been ongoing for four years. There are still said to be problems with the display and the hinges. Even cooperation with rivals Samsung or LG is being considered for this problem.
This iPad will presumably be larger than previous models; nothing more is known yet. There is also no information on a possible price. But there are already some visions circulating on Twitter of what it could look like (see above)
