Friday will begin rainy, and the rainy weather will continue over the weekend. On Sunday, however, the weather will become increasingly sunny.
According to the Geosphere Austria forecast, frosty temperatures are expected in some parts of Austria in the morning. Highs will be up to eleven degrees at the weekend and up to 14 and 15 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
Rainy start to the weekend
On Friday, the country’s eastern half will see rain throughout the day, accompanied by many clouds. The precipitation may be heavy, especially in the south and south-east. As the day progresses, the rain will weaken, but it will remain mostly cloudy. In the west, there will be sunny spells and many clouds, but rain showers will also occur. The snow line will be between 1,100 and 1,600 meters above sea level. In the morning, temperatures will be between minus one and seven degrees, reaching only five to eleven degrees as the day progresses.
Only intermittent sunshine on Saturday
On Saturday, some clouds will pass, and it will rain in the regions along the northern edge of the Alps and from Salzburg to Burgenland. The snow line will be between 800 and 1,200 meters. The sun will only appear occasionally. However, in the west and southwest, the clouds will increasingly clear in the afternoon. There will only be a few rain showers on the southern side of the Alps, where it will often remain dry. The wind will blow briskly from west to northwest in the north and the Danube region. Temperatures will be between minus two and six degrees in the morning and rise to four to eleven degrees in the afternoon.
Sunny weather on Sunday
On Sunday, the sun will shine again frequently in many areas. Fog patches or any residual clouds will generally disappear quickly. However, clouds will predominate in the western parts of the country, and there may be some rain in the afternoon, especially in Vorarlberg and the Tyrolean Oberland. The snow line will rise well above 1,500 meters during the day. Temperatures will be between minus six and four degrees, and highs will reach between five and eleven degrees.
The start of the new week brings rain again
With a warm front passing, extensive clouds will once again spread across most of the country on Monday. This will result in rainfall in the western and northern half of the country. The snow line will rise significantly to over 2,000 meters. However, the weather will remain favourable in the south and southeast, with occasional sunny spells and hardly any rain. Early temperatures will mainly be between minus four and four degrees, while highs during the day will be between eight and 14 degrees, with the highest values in the west.
Changeable weather on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the weather will be dominated by a strong westerly to north-westerly current. In the mountains, especially on the north side of the Alps and in the north of the country, there will be frequent dense clouds and rain or showers. The snow line will generally lie between 1,600 and 2,200 meters. Otherwise, sunshine and clouds will alternate, with showers remaining localized. The southern part of the country will experience dry weather and significantly more sunshine. The wind will blow briskly and strongly from the southwest to the northwest in many parts of the country; only in the south will it be weak. Depending on the wind, temperatures will range between minus two and eight degrees in the morning and reach a maximum of nine and 15 degrees as the day progresses.
