The weekly and monthly passes on Wiener Linien are being phased out. Instead, from July 1, new season tickets will be introduced, each valid for seven or 31 days. Passengers can choose the validity period and are no longer tied to calendar weeks or months.

Of course, these tickets are not entirely new; they have been available digitally since 2022, but from July 1, they will also be available as paper tickets, with the advantage that they can be transferred to other people.

Transferable is more expensive
However, a change will also make customers less happy; the new tickets will be more expensive. Instead of 17.10 for the “7 Days in Vienna” ticket, you must pay 19.70 for the digital ticket starting in July; the transferable paper version will cost 22.60 euros. The “31 Days in Vienna” ticket, currently available digitally for 51 euros, will continue to cost 51 euros digitally, while the transferable version will cost 58.70 euros. With the argument that transferability to other passengers is also worth something.

The “1-day Vienna” ticket and the 8-day climate ticket will no longer be offered. The annual ticket is still available for 365 euros. According to Wiener Linien, the prices for all other tickets (e.g., one-way tickets and season tickets for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours) will also remain unchanged.
