The cell phone number 015218052664 is a fake. Behind it is the virtual network provider Lycamobile, which is particularly popular with spammers and fraudsters. We’ll tell you what the callers want and how you can block the entire network.

You see the number 015218052664 on the display, but the call is coming from a call center. This technique is called call ID spoofing. Dialing computers provide fake phone numbers while the actual number of the fraudsters is hidden. Therefore, reporting these calls to the Federal Network Agency is pointless.

The scam of the number 015218052664
Once again, it’s the health insurance scam with a taped message: As soon as a call is made, you hear an announcement asking you to press “1” to save money on health insurance.

This technique ensures that many calls can be made simultaneously because only a small proportion of callers are gullible enough to press “1”.

They are then connected to a telemarketer, who tells them lies about cheaper health insurance fees.

As it turns out, they know some of their victims’ details and telephone numbers during these conversations.

These are requested “for comparison” in such a way that you have to answer “yes.” This spoken word is recorded and later edited into fake contract consents.
They usually don’t know your IBAN, and you should never give it to them!

It’s best not to answer the phone and to block this number or the entire area code forever.

How to block this area code on your cell phone, landline, and Fritzbox
The network used has the area code 01521 and is surprisingly rarely used by “normal people.” The numbers seem to be all the more popular with criminals. Recently, almost all reported cell phone fraudsters have used this network.

You can use an app to block the entire area code range on Android phones. Unfortunately, you still have to do this for each number individually with iPhones. The process is explained in the video:

You can block the entire area code in the Telekom fixed network by calling up the “Telephony Center” in the browser, logging in, and adding this to the block list.
