Anyone who wants to have the 2024 climate bonus transferred to their account must enter their current account details on FinanzOnline in good time. The deadline for this is coming up soon.
The climate bonus will bring significantly more money into your account this year than last year. Up to 290 euros will be paid out to all eligible persons in Austria. The payment is made either directly to the account or by letter and voucher. To receive the 2024 climate bonus to your account, you must enter your current account details in FinanzOnline. The deadline is July 10, 2024.
People who regularly receive money from the state will automatically receive the 2024 climate bonus in their account. Those who have already entered their current bank details in FinanzOnline will also receive the climate bonus. If the current bank details are not stored in FinanzOnline, the climate bonus will be sent by post or RSa letter. Anyone who does not wish to receive the climate bonus in the form of a voucher must enter their account details in FinanzOnline by July 10, 2024, at the latest or update their account details if they have changed.
These people will not receive a climate bonus
The climate bonus is paid to all persons who have been registered as having their main residence in Austria for more than six months. People who have been in prison for more than 183 days and non-Austrian citizens without legal residence status do not receive a climate bonus.
The basic amount this year is 145 euros. With the regional compensation, it is up to 290 euros. The payment levels depend, among other things, on the expansion of public transport in the respective region and amount to 145, 195, 245 and 290 euros this year.
