Vienna is the most liveable city

“The Economist” again ranks Vienna first worldwide in terms of quality of life in 2024.
For the third time in a row, the British Economist has named Vienna the world’s most liveable city in its annual Global Liveability Ranking.

The decisive factor for the top position in this ranking success was the full score for stability, healthcare system, education, and infrastructure in a global comparison of cities.

Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig said:

“It fills us with pride that our achievements have once again been internationally recognized and awarded. It is no coincidence that Vienna is again at the top of this global ranking. Thanks to the hard-working Viennese population, this outstanding result is no coincidence. It is an honor for all Viennese.”
In second place in the ranking of 173 cities is Copenhagen, ahead of Zurich and Melbourne. Another European city in the top 5 is Geneva in 5th place, with Calgary, Sydney, Vancouver, Osaka, and Oakland completing the top 10.
