The weather at the weekend will once again show its changeable side.
On Friday, low pressure will bring some rain showers along the northern side of the Alps and snow or sleet showers above 1,600 meters.
In the meantime, the sun will appear again and again, except in the northern congestion. Fewer showers will be to the east, while the south and southeast will remain largely precipitation-free. A brisk westerly wind will prevail in the Danube region and on the eastern edge of the Alps. Early temperatures will range from five to twelve degrees, with daytime highs of twelve to 19 degrees.
Persistent fog or high fog is expected in the early morning hours on Saturday, especially in the south of the Alps. In the other regions, the day will start partly sunny, with clouds approaching in the west. For the time being, it will remain free of precipitation everywhere. Early temperatures will be between one and seven degrees, with daytime highs between eleven and 19 degrees.
A disturbance zone coming from the west will brush the country on Sunday. Dense cloud cover and isolated rain showers are expected, especially north of the main Alpine ridge. The sun will appear less frequently in these regions. Temperatures will reach between three and eleven degrees in the morning, with daytime highs of twelve to 18 degrees.
Warmer weather at the start of the week
Monday will start mostly sunny across the country. Isolated fog patches and high fog, especially in the Alpine valleys and southern Austria, will clear in the morning. During the afternoon, the first clouds from a warm front approaching from the southwest will gather. Early temperatures will be one to ten degrees, and daytime highs will be twelve to 21 degrees.
The sun will mostly shine during Tuesday, but denser clouds will also move through from the west. Early temperatures across the country will be between four and eleven degrees, with daytime highs between 13 and a warm 24 degrees.
