On Tuesday, 31 December 2024, preparations for New Year’s Eve in Vienna will again ensure a big store rush. Despite shortened opening hours, many stores and shopping centers in Vienna will be open on New Year’s Eve. This means you can still do some last-minute shopping on 31 December, for example, buying food, champagne, decorations for the New Year’s Eve party, or traditional lucky charms.
On New Year’s Eve, last-minute purchases in general retail can be made until 5 p.m. in accordance with the Vienna Opening Hours Ordinance. Gerngross: stores open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Billa Plus 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.), restaurants with different opening hours
Lugner City: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Millennium City: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Riverside: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (individual stores until 2:00 p.m.)
