The temperature trend is upwards, especially after the weekend. Even the sun will be out more often.

Still changeable and cool until Friday
The weather will remain unsettled in many parts of Austria until and including Friday. Thick clouds, wind, and comparatively cool temperatures will continue to dominate events. Rain is to be expected at times, especially in the north and east of the country, so the umbrella remains a reliable companion.

More sun on the weekend due to high pressure
The weather will start to improve on Saturday. An area of high pressure extending from the Azores (a group of islands in the Atlantic belonging to Portugal) over Scandinavia will influence Central Europe. Austria also benefits from this. It will be much sunnier in the east after the last showers, which may still occur on Saturday, especially in the mountains. On Sunday, the weather in the east and southeast will remain mainly friendly. Showers may form again over the Alps during the day, but these will be mainly localized.

Warmer next week – first summer days possible
The new week will finally bring much more pleasant weather. Most regions will see regular sunshine, and temperatures will rise noticeably. In the lowlands, temperatures will reach over 20 degrees in many places. By the middle of the week, the first summer days with temperatures of around 25 degrees are possible.

Good weather for agriculture
This is good news for many farmers: the lowlands will remain mostly dry, ideal conditions for the first cut. Over the mountains, the risk of showers and thunderstorms will remain during the day, although these will mostly be isolated, brief events. It is not yet clear how long the friendly weather will last, but at least a few days of sunshine and pleasant temperatures are foreseeable.
