Not only is the start of the new week rainy, but Geosphere Austria’s entire forecast until Friday is also rainy. Clouds, cool temperatures, and recurring precipitation will dominate the weather in Austria in the coming days.

A rainy start to the week in Austria
Under the influence of disturbances, it will be widely overcast on Monday. The sun will only appear briefly, if at all, and regionally in the south. The most precipitation will fall in the country’s south, with the least generally falling in the east and northeast. In the north, the snow line will drop to 1,600 meters above sea level in some places, while in the south it will remain between 2,000 and 2,500 meters above sea level. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from the north to northeast on the northern side of the Alps and weakly to moderately elsewhere. Early temperatures will be between five and twelve degrees. Daytime highs will remain very subdued at nine to 16 degrees.

It will often be cloudy again throughout Tuesday. It will usually continue to rain for extended periods, especially near the main Alpine ridge and in the south. The snow line will be 1,500 to 2,200 meters above sea level from north to south. In the east, on the other hand, it will mostly be free of precipitation during the day, with a few clear spells expected in the afternoon and sometimes even a few rays of sunshine late in the day. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from the northwest to the northeast. Early temperatures will be between three and nine degrees, with daytime highs between ten and 16 degrees.

On Wednesday, it will be mainly cloudy throughout the country. Occasionally, brief sunny spells may be in the country’s eastern half. It will remain predominantly dry in the north and east. In the west and southwest, it will rain frequently, in places heavily. The wind will be mostly weak to moderate from north to east, with brisk winds from the east in the foothills of the Alps. Early morning temperatures will be between three and eleven degrees, and daytime highs will be between 13 and 18 degrees.

The weather is expected to remain cool and damp until Friday
Clouds will dominate the weather throughout Austria on Thursday, with rain showers falling from time to time—these may be heavier in places. The best chances of brief sunny spells are in the south. The snow line will be between 1,500 meters and 2,000 meters above sea level. The wind will be mostly weak to moderate, also brisk in places in the north, from north to east. Early temperatures will be between four and eleven degrees, with daytime highs between eight and 16 degrees.

Across the country, cloudy and wet conditions will dominate on Friday, with short sunny spells being rare. It will stay dry the longest in the far north and east. The snow line will be between 900 and 1,500 meters above sea level. The wind will be mostly weak to moderate from various directions. Early morning temperatures will be between four and nine degrees, with daytime highs usually between nine and 16 degrees.
