Vienna, Austria, 15 May 2025 – The monthly Welcoming Coffee of the United Nations Women’s Guild (UNWG), held on 14 May 2025 at the UN in Vienna, turned into a platform for youthful insight and digital empowerment, thanks to compelling presentations delivered by ENFiD-Austria under the banner of Education & Learning and Empowering Euro-Filipino Youth—two of the core E-pillars of the European Network of Filipino Diaspora (ENFiD).
In a room filled with an international audience, the spotlight was on Sarah Jozelle Rojas, ENFiD-Austria Public Relations Officer and ENFiD Director, who captivated the audience with her presentation on “Press Freedom vs AI: A Gen Z Perspective.” As a true digital native, Sarah explored the balancing act between innovation and integrity, freedom of speech and algorithmic manipulation. Her take on AI’s potential—and pitfalls—in shaping what her generation reads, sees, and believes sparked a lively, intergenerational discussion.
Following Sarah’s session, Marizel Rojas, ENFiD-Austria Chairperson and ENFiD Board Adviser, brought the room back to the ground with a powerful and practical presentation titled “Phishing: Don’t Take the Bait! Recognizing Online Fraud and Scams.” With a blend of humor, horror stories, and hard facts, Marizel highlighted how even the most thoughtful digital citizens can fall prey to online schemes and offered easy-to-follow tips to stay one step ahead.

Both talks were met with strong applause and prompted active audience engagement. Attendees were eager to learn more about ENFiD-Austria’s efforts in youth education and digital empowerment.
UNWG Welcoming Coffee Chairperson Maya Subki thanked the speakers on behalf of the Guild, noting the value of fresh perspectives in today’s rapidly changing world. She also invited UNWG Board Members to share updates: on Membership, by Burghild Mank, on the Charity Review Committee by Dorika Esther Achachi, on the Bazaar by Rana Hawash Al-Masri, and on upcoming Guild activities by Dalila Leon-Kostal.
This event underscored the value of giving youth a voice at the table, especially in institutions where global change takes shape.
