Our ESC king JJ (436 points) is ahead of the Israeli Yuval Raphael (357) and the cool Estonian Tommy Cash (356)—this is the official and, for Austria, so pleasing final result of the 69th Song Contest. The ranking looks slightly different in the iTunes charts, which are currently determined by the ESC hits.
JJ’s haunting pop opera “Wasted Love” has been at number 1 for days now, that’s for sure! But behind him comes the first surprise: Italian Lucio Corsi, who only made it to 4th place at the ESC with his indie pop anthem “Volevo essere un duro”, storms up to 2nd place, putting the cool dance hit “Espresso Macchiato” by Tommy Cash, who will also be on the line-up at the Frequency Festival in St. Pölten in August, in its place.

Fourth place goes to the Viennese duo Abor & Tynna, who only came 15th in the Song Contest with their trendy hit “Baller” but collected the famous “12 points” in the Austrian public vote. Yuval Raphael, who kept us trembling for victory at the ESC until 0.59 am, completes the top 5 with “New Day will Rise”.

These are the iTunes charts from May 19th:

  1. JJ, Wasted Love
  2. Lucio Corsi, Volevo essere un duro
  3. Tommy Cash, Espresso Macchiato
  4. Abor & Tynna, Baller
  5. Yuval Raphael, New Day will Rise
  6. KAJ, Bara Bada Bastu
  7. JJ, Wasted Love – Karaoke Version
  8. Alex Warren, Ordinary
    9th Lola Young, Messy
  9. Zoë Më, Voyage
After the cool sauna hit “Bara Bada Bastu” by Swedish ESC “losers” KAJ and a karaoke version of our winning anthem “Wasted Love”, the first songs that didn’t take part in the Song Contest are in 8th and 9th place: “Ordinary” by Alex Warren and “Messy” by Lola Young. At number 10, another ESC hit is heard: “Voyage” by the Swiss pop elf Zoë Më. A small consolation, as the audience in Basel gave the infamous “zero points” on Saturday.
