Austria’s population is growing, and this is exclusively due to migration. The central thesis of Statistics Austria’s yearbook on migration and integration is reflected in all the figures. Currently, around 9 million people live in Austria, 2.5 million of whom have a migration background. This number is growing year after year, across all federal states.
