October 5, 2025 – Vienna, Austria – The Filipino Catholic Chaplaincy in Wienerfeld, 1100 Vienna, was filled with faith and festivity on Sunday, October 5, 2025, as the Filipino community came together to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag. The annual celebration, one of the most cherished Marian devotions among Filipinos, drew devotees from across Austria to honor the Blessed Mother, known affectionately as Apo Baket.
The celebration began with a solemn procession around the church, featuring the image of Our Lady of Manaoag carried reverently by devotees. The crowd prayed the Holy Rosary and sang Marian hymns as they walked, creating a moving display of faith and unity.
After the procession, the community gathered for the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Ely Dalanon, Chaplain of the Filipino Catholic Community. In his homily, Fr. Dalanon spoke about the meaning and importance of Marian devotion, reminding the faithful that honoring Mary is a path toward deepening one’s relationship with Christ. He encouraged everyone to emulate Mary’s faith, humility, and obedience to God’s will.

The celebration continued with a sumptuous lunch prepared by the Association of Pangasinenses in Austria, whose members worked tirelessly to ensure a joyful gathering. In a heartfelt Facebook message, the association’s president, Mr. Frederick Arce, expressed his gratitude:
“Thank you all for your tireless support, sacrifices, and the time you gave from day one of the novena until the fiesta on October 5. To the priests, lectors, altar servers at SAW and FCC, the choirs, all the Agape sponsors, and everyone who helped make the Andas of Apo Baket beautiful — thank you. To all who attended the novena, went to church, and celebrated the fiesta, your efforts and sacrifices are deeply appreciated.
May the Lord God and Apo Baket, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag, bless us all abundantly.”
The event was more than a religious observance—it was a heartfelt expression of unity, gratitude, and enduring faith among Filipinos in Vienna, keeping alive the beloved traditions of home.
