Vienna, Austria — The Kapunungan sa mga Bisaya sa Austria (KBA) has reached out to support earthquake-affected families in the Visayan region, showing solidarity and compassion for their fellow Filipinos back home.
In the wake of the recent tremors that struck parts of Northern Cebu, KBA mobilized its members and supporters to gather donations for those most affected. Through the generosity of Filipinos and friends in Austria, the group collected essential goods and financial aid to send back to the Philippines.
Local contacts in Cebu coordinated with KBA to pack and personally deliver relief goods to families in San Remigio, Bogo, and Medellin—three of the hardest-hit areas. The initiative ensured that help went directly to those in need, providing much-needed comfort and supplies during recovery efforts.
KBA expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, especially to the members and friends of the Kapunungan sa mga Bisaya sa Austria and the Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA), whose unwavering support made the relief drive possible.
“We are deeply grateful to all who opened their hearts and shared what they could,” a KBA representative said. “This act of bayanihan reminds us that distance does not diminish our compassion and unity as Filipinos.”
The organization pledged to continue supporting relief efforts and standing in solidarity with their “kababayans” in the Visayas as recovery and rebuilding continue.
