Golden autumn weekend before the weather changes
On Saturday, the sun will shine across almost all of Austria. From Vorarlberg to Carinthia, the skies will be clear and cloudless. This will provide ideal conditions for walks or hikes at higher altitudes. It will also become increasingly sunny and mild in the lowlands.
High clouds on Sunday
On Sunday, the first high clouds will roll in, but they will hardly dampen the pleasant weather. Especially in eastern Austria, it will remain mostly sunny. However, the morning will be cold: temperatures will be around freezing, with ground frost in many places. In the afternoon, temperatures will rise to 10 to 17 degrees Celsius.
Weather change at the beginning of the week
At the beginning of the new week, the weather situation over Europe will change significantly. On Monday, thick clouds will prevail, especially in the west. In Vorarlberg (a province in western Austria), rain will set in from the afternoon onwards. Only in eastern Austria will it remain sunny at times.
Föhn brings mild temperatures
As the week progresses, the rain will also spread to the south. In contrast, there will be little precipitation in the north and east, with only a few liters falling in most places. Due to the south Föhn, which occurs in typical Föhn areas, temperatures there will rise to between 17 and just under 20 degrees Celsius. Away from these regions, it will remain cooler, and clouds will continue to predominate.
