The Song Weavers Philippines concluded their successful concert run in Vienna on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, capping off a busy and well-received cultural tour in the Austrian capital. The group spent several days performing across the city, drawing crowds of Filipinos and international friends who came to watch and support their music.
The group, known for its vocal harmony work and dedication to promoting Filipino choral music abroad, is composed of community-based singers who blend traditional, liturgical, and contemporary Filipino pieces in their performances. Their mission is to showcase Filipino musical artistry while strengthening connections among Filipino communities worldwide.
During their stay, the Song Weavers took part in a wide range of events that highlighted both Filipino talent and cultural pride. They were invited to perform at an event hosted at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna—one of the key highlights of their tour. The ensemble also provided music for Masses celebrated at the Filipino Catholic Chaplaincy, offering a familiar and comforting presence for overseas Filipinos. Beyond formal venues, the group also brought music to a Pinoy bar in the city, where the lively atmosphere allowed them to connect with the community in a more relaxed setting.
Their final concert was held on November 11 at Salvator am Wienerfeld Parish, Wienerfeldgasse, 1110 Vienna. Supporters celebrate the group’s artistry and the cultural spirit they brought with them from the Philippines. The evening served as both a musical showcase and a heartfelt community gathering.
Adel Calanog—Filipino entrepreneur, community leader, and organizer for the group—expressed deep gratitude to everyone who helped make the Vienna concert series possible. She thanked partners, volunteers, and the wider Filipino community for their enthusiasm and support throughout the group’s stay.
Calanog noted that the strong turnout and warm reception reflected the unity and pride of Filipinos in Austria. She emphasized that the success of the Song Weavers’ visit was a shared effort, made possible by a community that continues to uplift Filipino culture on the global stage.
